Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 4:50AM 'Dark Knight' Web Video: Rachel Dawes Supports Harvey Dent
Just in case you forgot, The Dark Knight is not too far away (July 18th), and though the film understandably took a couple months off from its aggressive marketing - in both traditional and viral forms - because of the death of Heath Ledger, it looks like the biggest sequel of the summer is back on track.
Check out this new video of Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal) throwing her support behind District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) as he fights crime and corruption.
It's just another example of why The Dark Knight, if nothing else, is a master class of film marketing. The onslaught began nearly a year before the film was released and with each new reveal, something catches you off guard and catches your interest.
And unlike Cloverfield, which also benefitted immensely from its online presence, people aren't left guessing about what's what; they're just becoming more intrigued by a film they were likely to see anyway.
