New Trailer for 'The X-Files: I Want to Believe'

The folks at IGN have debuted the brand new trailer for The X-Files: I Want to Believe.

It's a bit shadowy, and I don't just mean in terms of the lighting. Obviously, you're not expecting to find out too much about the story, but rest assured it's not the wedding of Mulder and Scully. They've got to solve some kind of case, and here's why I think this movie might be one of the better ones this summer: The formula is simple, the characters have good chemistry, and this is a stand alone film. It's not picking up where the series left off, and it's not adding to the lore of the series.

Plus, even when the show was kind of going off the deep end late in the game, this was always one of the smartest, most compelling shows on TV, so I'm not worried about this movie being up to snuff. If anything, I think it might be better because of all the time and distance since the end of the series.

The X-Files: I Want to Believe hits theaters on July 25th.
