New Posters for 'Hellboy II' and 'The Rocker'

A couple new movie posters we found over at IMP Awards. The first is incredibly cool; the second, well, it's kind of hard to look at and to turn away from.

We'll begin with Hellboy II: The Golden Army. We're officially on record as saying it's our second most-anticipated comic book flick of the summer. Yes, ahead of Iron Man. Will it make that kind of money? Hell no. But it's an inventive series, you've got Guillermo Del Toro serving as puppet master again and Ron Perlman returning to his best role ever.

The stakes are a little higher, but I think the material and the talent involved are more than up to the challenge. The new poster is pretty dramatic. I dig it:

Hellboy II hits theaters on July 11th, a week before another notable comic book movie we shouldn't have to mention by name.

Our second poster is for The Rocker, the new comedy starring Rainn Wilson from The Office. In the film, he plays a once-and-future king of rock, a drummer no less, who joins a high school band to reignite his career.

This kid's head...man, I just hope that's at least 42% Photoshop.

You can throw your rockfist up beginning August 1st.

With the first Hellboy Del Toro almost got it right. Let's hope he learned from his mistakes and takes advantage of this chance to do something special.

As for Wilson, can this guy really be a leading man? Don't get me wrong, the "This is one diddle that can't be undid, home-skillet" was a great delivery of a well-written line, BUT..

I think he is more like John C Reilly in that the background suits him better.

Again, maybe the Rocker will prove me wrong.
