Friday, May 2, 2008 at 10:07PM New Poster for Indie Comedy 'Hamlet 2' Invokes Jesus, Toilet Humor
We showcased the trailer for Hamlet 2 last week at The Big Picture, and it stars Steve Coogan, which is good enough for us and according to the poster it has the endorsement of Peter Travers of Rolling Stone, which kind of nullifies the warm feeling we got from all that Steve Coogan business.
Honestly, I don't care if Peter Travers liked this movie or not, I'm still interested. It's carrying the Little Miss Sunshine summer slot of the Sundance-comedy-that-could, and it's a product of Focus Features now, which means it will at least be well marketed, even if Focus has an infuriating practice of not putting its great movies into enough theaters. That's a story for another time, however.
Here's the one sheet for Hamlet 2, which includes a poster baring the inscription, "Rock Me Sexy Jesus" as well as the tag line, "One high school drama teacher is about to make a huge number 2."
Ah, scatalogy; where would we be without you?

Hamlet 2 is eyeing a mid-August release, and you can download a bigger version of this poster at IMP Awards.
