'Clone Wars' Gets a Poster Not Worthy of Its Coolness

I can't believe it's been almost three months since we served up the trailer for this summer's Star Wars: The Clone Wars for you here at The Big Picture. But yeah, it was mid-February when you got your first chance to see what George Lucas was cooking up, namely a Star Wars with the least possible George Lucas, which for my money, is a much better prospect than anything he's done since Empire Strikes Back.

And Clone Wars sounds great. It'll air on two networks this fall, and prior to that, you'll get to see some episodes sandwiched together as the seventh official Star Wars theatrical release.

Oh, and it's animated, if you're new to all this. Here's the poster (gracias, IMP), which isn't exactly breathtaking.

Clone Wars arrives in theaters on August 15th. May the force be with you? Yes, it may. But will it? That's the question.

Breathtaking? What exactly should it be, then? Have you SEEN the butt-ugly Batman posters? The middling Indiana Jones poster? The downright stupid Mummy poster (an M on its side makes a 3 ... brilliant!)? This at least is active, fun, visually arresting and something I could keep looking at and getting enthusiastic about for days!
