Watch Three New Clips from 'Wanted'

I saw Wanted last night, and while I'm not allowed to share my thoughts with you just yet, I can share a bunch of new clips from the action movie, which will be out next weekend.

If you're new to the Wanted scene, James McAvoy plays a struggling office worker swept into a world of high-powered assassins by Angelina Jolie, who works for Morgan Freeman. The movie is based on a rather cool graphic novel by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones and director Timur Bekmambetov (Night Watch) is just the guy to bring those kinds of visuals to the big screen.

If you need more proof, check out these three new clips from Wanted, and please remember, the line to see it in theaters forms to the left.

I realize that you must bite your tongue (or pen, or keyboarding fingers or whatever) for a few days, sometimes longer after seeing an advance screening. I am just curious enough to ask you a question, though. In your career, has a film ever been so completely God-awful that you just had to go against your review policy and spread the avoid-at-all-costs warning? Or conversely, so good you just couldn't hold back?

Also, I've always wondered is it a personal preference or the policy of an employer that we never see your reviews until release day?

The policy is that reviews have to be held until opening day. Of course, that's changing; when Cannes reviews of Indiana Jones flooded the internet the weekend before it was released, newspapers felt compelled to keep up, which led to more reviews leaking early. For that film, I published my review two days early because it was already all over the place.

I keep it to opening day for practicality, mainly. Why would anyone come here on a Tuesday looking for a review of something that opens three days later? There will be extreme circumstances when we're allowed to publish early, but it's always baffled me why even glowing reviews have to wait.

If I'm ever in a position to attend more festivals, I could see myself writing reviews as part of my coverage; I mean, that's the gig, right? But in general, with big new releases, I'll hold 'em if they want me to.

Having said that, I'd run like hell away from The Love Guru if I were you...
