Beautiful Annie Leibovitz Photos from the Set of 'Australia'

Realizing that it's still summer and there is a mondo list of movies to look forward to before Labor Day, I'd nonetheless like to direct your attention to a sumptuous pictorial in the latest issue of Vogue. As she explains in the video below, Annie Leibovitz, who needs no further introduction, was assigned by Vogue to visit the set of Baz Luhrmann's Australia, the director's sweeping Western that stars Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman.It bears pointing out that if there are only five people in the world obsessed with visual detail and photographic aesthetics, the other three are sitting at the the table with Baz and Leibovitz. That's just a deadly combination, as these beautiful photographs more than prove. I believe they're meant to capture the feeling of the story rather than mimic specific scenes.
