Cancelled Series 'Jericho' Getting the Big Screen Green Light?
Even though attempts to keep the series alive on CBS didn't
work out too well for its fans,
Jericho could soon be headed to a theater near
you.
Two of the show's stars,
Ashley Scott and
Brad Beyer, have
gone on record saying that
there is movement toward a movie version of the show, which would pick up on the
events that occurred in a small Kansas town following a nuclear blast.
Says Scott, "We caught wind of a possible movie idea,
which we thought was really good. I think Brad had heard about it online the
other day, and I just heard tonight, and I thought that would be really
wonderful, wouldn't it? Kind of put a closing on it."
Beyer echoes Scott's calls for a fitting conclusion to
the storyline: "We kind of feel like it needs some closure, because it still
feels kind of weird. I mean, we didn't get to a whole second season. ... I think
you can do a lot more with it. I think there's a lot of different ways you can
go with the story."
Now, CBS brought Jericho back for a kind of
mini-season after its first cancellation, but nobody was really happy with the
short leash, and if a movie version could end what began so promisingly, I say
go for it. The story's readymade. It only needs a bigger, better finish.

Thanks for spreading the word about Jericho's possible future.
I've put a link and summary of this blog in our Jericho blog/news archive.

Bring back the show and let it end in a more befitting fashion. CBS you let us all down. But you still continue with nitwit shows like Big Brother and numberous sitcoms. Give us the quirky unusal show that is different. Give it and the cast a proper ending or begining. Don't just let it hang.
I don't know who reads this. But if anybody from CBS does read this. You cancelled the show b/c the ratings didn't go up although you know that people watch this show in many different platforms. I think any Network that could get this show would benefit since there is such a loyal fan base. As well the writers strike would also have put a damper on the ratings. I find it so funny how this and other shows are constantly getting cancelled and other shows go on and on. I wish if there is going to be a movie that some one would officially announce it. This is the first time I have written anything like this I don't know why I just thought that this show was really good and can't believe it was cancelled.
Making a movie about Jericho, whether or not it's a sequel to the show or just a spin off, is not a good idea. They should just make another 14 episodes so that the 'third' season completes the second season, making a conclusion to the best series ever. It's definitely possible, the story's there, the actors are too, they just have to pick up where they left off. I really hope this happens, I really do.
