Taste Some 'Tropic Thunder' Booty Sweat!

I don't guess there's a comedy on anyone's radar until the end of July, and really, with apologies to Step Brothers and Pineapple Express, the real comedy of the summer has to Tropic Thunder, teaming Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and a black-faced Robert Downey Jr. Paramount is seizing the spotlight that has been thrust upon the film since the first images broke several months ago, and now they've really outdone themselves, launching a new energy drink: Tropic Thunder Booty Sweat. The drink was created for the film, as a prop. Reportedly, it appears both in the film several times and in a fictitious commercial that preceded it at a recent press screening. But now Paramount is going the distance, according to Ad Age, licensing Booty Sweat to be distributed by Boston America Group all over the country. "Not to my knowledge has this ever been done before," said Michael Corcoran, president of consumer products at Paramount Pictures. "We're very excited, because it has the potential to live for quite a while, well beyond the film." Yeah, not only can you suck on some Booty Sweat, but apparently the drink will be on shelves for a while. This isn't exactly new; Idiocracy had an energy drink called Brawndo that featured into the plot and it enjoyed a short shelf life last year. But Tropic Thunder is substantially larger, and the drink will be readily available in Hot Topic, Hastings, Wherehouse and Coconuts stores, as well as online at Amazon.com. Paramount claims they have hundreds of thousands of cases. I'm going to request one from the studio later today, in fact. There will be two versions of the drink, one for rural destinations and one that will be sold in urban locations. Those stores will carry a drink described as:

"Delicious and bump up struttin' energy drink that will pump up a brotha's ass right-pronto. This swill will crank yo' metabolism up skippin' right over jiggy to straight G-pimp level, word to your mutha. Brothas will be layin' down the 2-3 on the wiggy jig focusing the energy flow into cold-face benjamins that will fill yo' pimp pockets to burstin'. Damn straight! Booty Sweat will keep a brotha pitchin' straight game all night to the baby-dolls."

Righteous. Oh, and there's more good news from the fake product/real product world: At long last, Sex Panther will be released this September, hoping to up its average to working every time 70% of the time.
