Keeping an Eye on 'Eagle Eye'
Friday, June 27, 2008 at 5:31PM
Have you seen the new trailer for
Eagle Eye yet? If not, we've got it for you. It
came out a couple of days ago and I've been trying to place the woman's voice on
the phone ever since. About the only thing I can come up with is that the GPS
lady is off her meds...and she's got it out for
Shia LaBeouf and
Michelle Monaghan.

Shia is Steven Spielberg's new charge, appearing in four
straight Spielberg movies (he's credited as a producer for this and both
Transformers flicks, plus he directed Indy IV), not that he doesn't
deserve the push. I'll be really interested to see if he makes it through this
first rush of fame, because audiences do have a talent for turning on flavors of
the month, especially when they're in two big movies a year. I happen to think
he's really talented, so I don't want that to happen to him.
One way to stay in the game is to find new and unique
roles. So...I'm not sure being on the run again really qualifies. However,
Eagle Eye looks like a blast. Throw in
Billy Bob Thornton as a straight-laced FBI dude
and I'm there.
Eagle Eye might be the first really big opening weekend of the fall. It'll be released September 26th and this trailer has only helped push the film a little higher. Incidentally, this re-teams Shia with his Disturbia
director,
D.J. Caruso. That's a team that worked well
before, although Shia with facial hair is not a good tandem. Who's he trying to
kid?

We're a bunch of ppl on Shia's IMDb-board who all happen to worship that beard. We named it "the motherf***ing LaBeard". :D
Shia Labeouf will do what he wants to do, that means if he wants to grow a beard he will, he has his own mind!!!!!!!
Yep, he sure does. If he doesn't want to leave a Walgreen's, by God, nobody's going to stop him.
But really, an online group of fans devoted to bad facial hair? Whatever works, I guess...
I worked on this movie for 4 days, I played a Congresswomen in a scene with Michelle. I can't say enough about this film and the work ethic that was present on set while I was there. It was due out on 08/08/08 but due to the Olympic Games, I believe it was pushed back to get a better opening. The Director, DJ Caruso not only knows his stuff, he is hands down one of the best Directors we have in the business today. I only wish he did more movies. All in all, I enjoyed working on it and the entire cast and crew were fabulous!
Thanks for chiming in. I think it looks great. The cast is very solid and Caruso really impressed me with Disturbia. Neat tidbit about the Olympics. That might be wise strategy, anyway, because August is not usually a great month at the movies.
