Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 3:34PM Bruce Willis To Star in 'Kane & Lynch' Video Game Adaptation?
Remember when they'd wait, like three or four years before turning a video game
into a movie? Or in the case of Pac-Man,
almost three decades?
Variety reports this afternoon that
Bruce Willis may star in
Kane & Lynch, the Lionsgate big screen
adaptation of the Eidos game
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, which was released in
November.

Whatever your thoughts about that news, I'm happy for
Simon Crane, who will direct his first feature,
moving up from second unit director and stunt coordinator for a bunch of big
flicks - Mr. and Mrs. Smith, the third X-Men, Troy, and
Will Smith's Hancock.
Willis would portray Adam "Kane" Marcus, a mercenary who
has to band together with James Lynch, a schizophrenic killer, in order to find
a stolen microchip. Variety says that Kyle Ward wrote the script and that
Lionsgate would like to start filming by the end of the year.
What can we say about Bruce Willis with a gun that
hasn't previously been said? He's one of the best armed actors in the world, so
it makes sense that he'd gravitate towards this project. How about this:
Game Guru suggested way back in November that
Willis could play the role and that Lynch might be embodied by
Billy Bob Thornton. Damn.
If that doesn't work out, though, I'd like to make a
suggestion based solely on the picture: Uh...is
The Undertaker free?
