Friday, June 6, 2008 at 12:12AM 'Transformers 2' Gets a Shiny New Title
So far so good for
Transformers 2. I still wish they'd take my
suggestion and incorporate 2ransformers into the marketing somewhere, if
only so I can bitch about not being paid for it years from now, but otherwise,
this thing is progressing very well.

The
cast and creative team are all back.
The singing of
Rainn Wilson is a nice, unpredictable element
to build on.
The
photos from the first few days of shooting in
Pennsylvania are incredibly encouraging.
And now we've got the official title. Wanna hear it?
Here it go...
Hasbro has announced the official title is
Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen (and let's just hope the series
doesn't go all early '80s, candy ass George Lucas on us and change it to
Return of the Fallen later on). It's memorable, it flows well, it's actually
a little cool, and it sets up the movie. Sayeth Hasbro in a press release,
"While details of the movie’s plot a closely-guarded secret, expect a key
character from the first movie to make a dramatic comeback and attempt to settle
a score."
My guess on that key character? O.J. Simpson. OK, he
wasn't in the first movie, but damn, that would be really heavy if he was behind
it all.
Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen - or in
Spanish, the equally cool Venganza del Caído - blows up entire cities on
June 26, 2009.

Wait, Rainn Wilson sings? Somehow, I just hope that's a typo...
It is a typo, but I'm leaving it in. Damn credibility: That's a better visual.
No that name in no ways sounds like there setting themselves up for a third Transformers movie.
