Sunday, July 13, 2008 at 11:08AM Complete Comic Con Schedule Announced
The 2008 San Diego Comic Con is less than two weeks
away, and once upon a time, this had a lot to do with comic books. Now it has
fully transformed itself into an all-media experience, four days of movies, TV,
and oh yeah, comics.
As a movie destination, Comic Con is unmatched in the amount
exposure it provides certain films and more importantly, it offers the sort of
up close and personal approach for its stars and creators that you can't find at
Toronto, Sundance, or Cannes. It really is a fanboy weekend, a Star Trek
convention with the most hyped movies around, and it helps create more hype for movies that may not have connected with audiences yet.
This year's Comic Con is great on Thursday and Friday,
and a bit wanting on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's good and all, I just
would've thought that would be the big day. We won't give you the whole calendar
hour by hour -
SDCC has a website if you're interested in that - but look at the
films showing up for discussion panels and press conferences because they know
how beneficial this weekend can be. For some, it will be their first real public
outing, so we're sure to get new posters, trailers, etc.
Thursday, July 24th
A documentary covering the career of Will Eisner (The Spirit)
Friday, July 25th
The Spirit
Saturday, July 26th
