Andy Dick...Precisely
There's something sad in all of this, and it would be a
lot worse if
Andy Dick had talent. But here he goes again,
completely worked over by his own addictions. The latest incident happened
outside a Buffalo Wild Wings in Murrieta, California, and involves Dick,
marijuana, Xanax, and an unfortunate victim.
According to reports, the comedian groped a
17-year-old, and pulled down her tank top and bra to expose her breasts. He was
arrested a short time later after the victim and a witness identified Dick after
the truck he was a passenger in was pulled over by the local constabulary.
This guy's a mess. And there are certain messes out
there who can be worth the trouble, whose talent is worth taking the risk, and
who might benefit from a steady hand of reassurance. Robert Downey Jr. was one,
for instance, hired for Ally McBeal while still losing to his demons. By
and large, that paid off for everybody, and pretty quickly.
But what do you do with the Scott Weilands, Amy
Winehouses, and Andy Dicks of the world? Certainly, they need help, but if you
stop letting them work, maybe it gets worse. But if you help them get work, they
feel like they're functioning.
In Andy Dick's case, I'm trying to remember when he was
truly funny, and nothing comes to mind. It was funny when Jon Lovitz kicked his
ass in a bar about a year ago, so maybe he's due for a few more rounds with the
other J-Lo. It's about time for him to grow up and get a real job.

Worst part in an otherwise great movie? Andy Dick's BJ instructor in Old School.
(Too bad, considering Brett Ratner trained him appropriately. It should have come off more...err...uh...clean?)
Note how disturbing his chin looks in this photo.
He looks like an unholy cross between Edward Norton and Kathy Griffin; funny how you never see Griffin or, er, Dick in the same place at the same time, BTW...
