Trailer - Chronicling 'The Mutant Chronicles'

I was not expecting greatness when I read the description for The Mutant Chronicles, a sci-fi movie in which Ron Perlman, Thomas Jane, and John Malkovich fight NecroMutants. I mean, it could be a silly enough experience that some laughs could come from it, but I hope nobody was really taking it seriously.

Then we saw some posters, which I think are meant to be serious, and some more concern crept in. "They do realize these guys are hunting NecroMutants, right?" was the question I asked myself.

And today, I saw a trailer for The Mutant Chronicles, and while the second half looks pretty standard, I have to see the first 30 seconds of this minute-long teaser is pretty compelling, and throughout the clip, I really like the dreary look of the future world director Simon Hunter has created.

We still don't have a U.S. release date for Chronicles as far as I know, but at least the news appears headed in the other direction for a change.

I think your being a little too hard on this film and expecting this to be a masterpiece or something. One should not expect this film to be on a level of “Citizen Kane”, “Casablanca”, “Gone With the Wind” or with lines and dialog like that of “Shakespeare” because it’s not trying to be like those type of films.

"Seemed mroe like they were fighting robots then necrohumans"

I fail to see how it seemed that they were fighting robots than necrohumans... they didn't even come close to robots.

On the contrary, that's the problem I have with the more serious posters. Have some fun with it: You're fighting necrohumans. After all, the first five words of the post were, "I was not expecting greatness." Hard to see how you missed that.
