Bale Arrested Over Assault Allegations

Christian Bale, who should be riding higher
than just about anyone in the world this week, instead was
arrested earlier today for assault.
It gets strangers: He's accused of assaulting his mother
and sister.The actor made bail but spent four
hours in a London police station after the star's mum and sister claimed he had
assaulted them Sunday night at the Dorcheseter Hotel. Because British
authorities don't name suspects until they are formally charged with a crime,
their official statement was instead, "A 34-year-old man attended a central
London police station this morning by appointment and was arrested in connection
with an allegation of assault." The "by appointment" indicates that he was
contacted about the charges first and agreed to turn himself in for questioning.
We don't have specifics about the assault, although his
sister was heard yelling to reporters, "It's a family matter." Bale has denied
the allegations and was released by police without being charged.
This is a truly bizarre way to cap off the biggest
professional weekend of Bale's career. He could've been arrested Monday, but
authorities admitted that they didn't want to disrupt the European premiere of
The Dark Knight that evening. You hope, of
course, that it is a family matter and some kind of gross misunderstanding in
which no one was injured or abused.

I almost posted something about Bale being a golden choice for producers of big-risk projects on one of your previous posts; he seems so put together as an actor.
And where I am quick to jump to conclusions and say that maybe I was wrong about that, I also have a scene from Million Dollar Baby playing out in my head, where trashy relatives begin to feel like they are entitled to some of a successful individual's rewards.
Either way, it will be interesting to see what becomes of all this.
Were Bale's mom and sis wearing Disneyland T-Shirts and Mousketeer ears as he was being hauled off by police?
His full name is Christian Charles Philip Bale and hid dad was an airline pilot, if that answers your query.
But Nolan has taught us that the batman has "issues" so why not let out the inner demons at a family reunion at the swankiest hotel in town. Seems as good a place as any.
I call BS. We already lost one great actor at the top of his game, no one were going to loose another tied to the same movie.

Well, I suppose it must be hard being the only male in the family... an argument over a long-running dispute... This isn't the American Psycho casting dispute again is it? Between Bale and his intensely feminist stepmum...
oh... my... Despite the probability of my tentative deduction I think I'll now immediately erase it from my mind as well as all nerve channels connecting my interest to this matter that is clearly IRRELEVANT to all us people who do not have the surname BALE - as Bale's sister best put it, "It's a FAMILY matter." Therefore, it is futile to exercize the hollow and fruitless right of speculating something that does not enter into the territory of our own personal affairs...
Ugh... celebrity obsession, yucky business indeed.
