'Watchmen,' 'Terminator' Trailers To Premiere with 'Dark Knight'
Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 11:31AM
There's plenty of reason to show up early to see
The Dark Knight next week. Chief among them, of
course, is the long line you'll have to battle, but another great reason is the
trailers that will precede the feature presentation.
Coming Soon has confirmed with Warner Bros. that three
big ticket items will premiere trailers before The Dark Knight:
Body of Lies from director Ridley Scott,
Terminator Salvation (which also stars
Christian Bale), and the long-awaited
Watchmen adaptation.
Yikes. Has a movie ever had three premieres as big as
those? I mean, no offense at all to Body of Lies, which stars Leonardo
DiCaprio and Russell Crowe, but that's clearly the bronze medalist in this
event. Still, if they had just issued this trailer, that would've been pretty
cool. Instead, Warner Bros., who deserves beaucoup credit for the way they've
handled The Dark Knight and didn't let all the buzz, hype and chatter
ruin the film a week early, is setting the stage for the single biggest day in
theaters for 2008. Honestly, what can compete with The Dark Knight and
the Watchmen and Terminator trailers?
There had been some speculation that we'd see the new
Harry Potter trailer, but that will apparently wait until Clone Wars,
which if you're following closely, means that the studio now has very big
expectations for Clone Wars, too.
But if you were going to wait until Sunday to see The
Dark Knight...don't be an idiot. Run out and see it on the 18th, the 19th at
the latest.
I wonder if we'll get those trailers at our official
sneak preview...Hmm...

Score Clone wars gonna get some harry potter action.
Does Guinness book have a record for most hyped / anticipated movie?
Oh, it's Episode One, but that was almost pre-internet. At least, it was pre-internet frenzy.
It's a kind of a shame that the trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince won't be shown before Dark Knight... I know so many people were almost expecting it. Not that it will deter from the movie in any way. But... Clone Wars? Really?
I guess they really love Clone Wars...
