Let Them Eat (Another 'Star Wars') Cake

A long time ago in a galaxy far away...OK, scratch that, it was more like two weeks ago right here at The Big Picture, we showed you pictures of a Millennium Falcon groom's cake. It looked filling, to be sure, but it was pretty well done.

I guess this is a growing subculture in the dessert world, because Monika at Cinematical had a story today about another Star Wars-themed cake (OK, technically it's an Empire-themed cake, you nerdos) depicting Han Solo frozen in carbonite. I'd be more inclined to buy this because the carbonite slab is my favorite prop from the entire Star Wars universe, however, I'm fairly certain it'll stain your teeth.

Now, whereas the Falcon cake was rich with glorious detail, this one appears to only be rich with frosting. If you look at the close up, Han Solo looks more like Mr. Bill. Still, it's a perfect companion to the other Han Solo cake, and it's truly the dessert for that special occasion when you want to say "I love you" and hear "I know" in response.

What's next in the edible Star Wars product line? The Princess Leia cinnamon buns would be too obvious, but what about a Wedge Antilles salad? A Porkins holiday ham? Anybody...?

You can order the carbonite confection through Michele's Confectionary Delights in Dallas. I'd like my friend and benevolent twin, the other Colin Boyd, to give the cake a try since he's right there in Tejas. Maybe Michele can cater his next gig.

My bro had a Vader Cake for his fifth birthday...

That was 1982, by the way, so cake tech had not advanced to the level it has today.

It looked like This.
