Watch Clips From New '30 Days of Night' Series

Not even two months ago we told you that a sequel to the 2007 vampire movie 30 Days of Night might be on the way. At the time there wasn't a script in place or even a director involved, so how could this much happen in six weeks?

Simple: This isn't the sequel we were talking about.

FearNet will present an original series called 30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust beginning August 7th. The sequel we were hearing about back in June is a direct-to-DVD thingee, and I guess we're still waiting for more details on that. As for the FearNet series, it technically replaces Josh Hartnett and Melissa George with Christopher Stapleton and Shawnee Smith. Different characters, same function. And the setting's New Orleans now, which, to my knowledge, never has 30 straight days of dusk.

We stumbled onto a few clips from the series at Giant Realm, and I think you'll see that although the production is a little more barebones, the storyline can work just about anywhere.

Once again, the series debuts next Thursday, and I'd tell you to call your cable company if you don't get FearNet, but there's no way you could have it added to their list of programming by then no matter how convincing your argument. So, if you don't get the network, check out FearNet's website for more updates and information.
