Megatron as a tank? That's apparently what's in the
cards for
Transfomers: Revenge of the Fallen. If you
remember from the first film, Mega was a jet, and he was one of the coolest
Decepticons in the entire movie. That's by design, of course, because he was the
bad guy.
But he's not the bad guy in round two, or at least he's
not The Bad Guy. For the sequel,
Michael Bay and the writers have dredged up the
Fallen from a more recent version of the comic books, and he's quite a villain,
as mechanical shape-shifting aliens go. As far as Megatron is concerned,
CHUD reports that the tank thing isn't unprecedented for
that character, and in fact, if you go back to Generation 2 from the mid-1990s,
Mega was an Abrams M1A1 tank (he was also an F-22 Raptor at one point).
Hints CHUD, "Megatron may be getting brought back by the
Autobots, who need him to conquer the new menace." That sounds like another T2
to me...
Either way - and I have a feeling CHUD may be onto
something, or else Megatron's not really necessary in the seqeul - conquering
the new menace won't be as easy as it sounds. In fact, now that
Shia LaBeouf has to fight him one-handed, I
don't know what hope mankind really has. But, The Fallen is one of the original
thirteen Transformers, the guardian of the force of entropy in the Universe, who
became seduced by the dark side.
Chances are, he won't be here on vacation.

Just tell me that Shia didn't injure his whippin' hand!
Great callback...
It will be good as long as it has the same director and Megan fox well being Megan Fox.
I was on TV.com yesterday and discovered several old cartoons that should be made into movies:
1. M.A.S.K
2. Voltron
3. Silverhawks
4. Challenge of the Gobots
5. Turbo Teen
Michael Bay as director: Optional.
I have the Generation 2 Megatron as a tank, & he is absolutely awesome (alot better than his original form, which didn't have any sound effects & had dificulty transforming or even standing up). Megatron could certainly do worse than being a tank (just don't get me started on the stupid lame-brained mix-up Michael Bay made with Brawl/Devastator. Sheesh!)
I actually heard something about a new Voltron movie in the works, but I don't know where. And I don't know if it would be animated or live-action. Although it would seem a little pointless for it to be animated, considering how the more recent Voltron: DotU series went. It would make more sense to do a live-action, though the logistics of it would be overwhelming.
P.S. Did you hear that the Silverhawkes tv series is being released to dvd? Booyeah! It's about time.
