Friday, September 12, 2008 at 6:58PM New and Improved 'Body of Lies' Posters
The first poster for Body of Lies is not very good. The second batch - character posters featuring Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio - are better. They keep the same color scheme, but maybe the absence over overdone Photoshopping really has that much of an effect.
Take a look at the first one again, and notice what appears to be DiCaprio's Plastic-Man torso, the flattened lines on his face and digital hair plugs.

These have had a lot less work done to them, which helps a lot. I still don't love them - they're not character posters the way Hellboy II or The Dark Knight did character posters, but they're OK.

Body of Lies is the big October movie, or didn't you know? I'll be interested to see if it charges out of the gates like Ridley Scott's American Gangster did in early November last year. I don't smell a bunch of awards for this one, either, although I'll admit that the trailer is much more effective when you see it in theaters, so maybe there's hope.
Kudos to IMP Awards for the posters, and you can grab much bigger versions of them there, if you're interested.
