Brangelina Named "Most Powerful" in Hollywood

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been named the most powerful actor and actress in the world by Guinness World Records. You know what? I'm happy for Brad and Angelina. They were due for some good news one of these days, right?

What were the criteria for the awards? "The record category is calculated based on a 12-month matrix of Google, Yahoo searches and...Forbes earnings," says Guinness. Tom Cruise had held the honor for four straight years...OK, for four years in a row, and he was definitely not going to repeat in 2008. I think only web searches helped him keep the title in 2007, because he didn't make that much from his movies last year.

And, just because that's the way these things go, Jolie has taken the crown of Most Powerful Actress away from - guess who - Jennifer Aniston. Ah, that's comedy.

Oh, and in case you didn't think they had enough going for them, Brad and Angelina donated $2 million to fight HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis in Ethiopia earlier in the week. Seriously, send them a condolence card; they could use some cheering up.

Guinness World Records also revealed the Samuel L. Jackson truly is King of the World; his 68 movies have made $7.42 billion. However, his good films have only accounted for about $.3 billion of that total.

I won't worry about it, either; I don't believe in a judgment day.
