Amazing Trailer for Animated 'Fears of the Dark'

fearsdarkposter.jpgThis is one of the best trailers I've seen all year, so now that it's about to hit American audiences right between the eyes, I thought I'd share it.

The movie is called Fears of the Dark, and it's an animated anthology about things that go bump in the night. Even better: It's a black and white animated anthology, which immediately gives it added texture and bleakness. Definitely the way to go for something like this.

It's cool it is to see animation that isn't just a Pixar movie or one intended for people under the age of eight. Adults grew up with animation, and it's the success of movies like this and Persepolis that will help it continue to grow as a storytelling art form.

Fears of the Dark is the product of many writer-directors, Blutch, Marie CaillouPierre Di SciulloJerry Kramski, Lorenzo MattottiRichard McGuireMichel Pirus, and Romain Slocombe.

If you'll be attending Fantastic Fest this weekend, you'll have a chance to see Fears of the Dark for yourself. There's no U.S. release date yet, although it will open in the U.K. on October 3rd.
