Favreau and Vaughn Are Money Again

This just in: Making movies beats your job. Next month, Vince Vaughn and two of his best friends, Jon Favreau and Peter Billingsley (A Christmas Story) will make a movie in Bora Bora. It sure sounds like they'll be disciplined, right?

Here's the story: Variety says that the Swingers combo will shoot Couples Retreat in Bora Bora and in L.A. before the end of the year, based on an idea Vaughn cooked up himself. Billingsley, who co-starred with Vaughn in an after-school special 20 years ago, will make his directorial debut. He has been a producer on a number of Vaughn and/or Favreau offerings, including Iron Man.

Couples Retreat "will follow four couples who go to a tropical island resort. While one couple is there to work on their marriage, the others are there for a good time, but soon discover that the therapy sessions aren't optional." Jason Bateman and Faizon Love will co-star.

Since making Swingers over ten years ago, Favreau and Vaughn have seen their careers take off independent of one another, although they have maintained a good working relationship, with Made, The Break-Up, and the upcoming holiday comedy, Four Christamses. We don't have female casting yet to complete the couples, although it would be very funny if they were gay. Just go with the four actors you have and let the chips fall where they may.

OK, maybe not. But it would have to be funnier than I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.
