Friday, September 19, 2008 at 7:16AM Karen Allen Open to Fifth 'Indiana Jones'
Sci-Fi Wire has a great interview with
Karen Allen
from
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Marion Ravenwood has always been the best female character in that series, so
I'm glad they brought her back, even if the movie was a bit, well, superfluous.
Allen seems very happy about the whole experience and fittingly nostalgic.
However, she remains grounded on what being seen by tens
of millions of people might mean for her career. "Being realistic, you know, I'm
in my mid-50s, and ... I'm not convinced that there's a real career out there to
be had," Allen says. "I'm thinking that maybe there's some interesting roles out
there to be had."
Allen talks about working with
Shia LaBeouf,
connecting with
Harrison Ford
again, what he's like now versus what he was like nearly 30 years ago, and she's
even talking about a fifth Indy Jones movie.
"I would say [I'm] very open to it," she says of the
theoretical proposal. "You know, this was a delightful experience and, yeah. I
would welcome it."

Has anyone taken her aside and told her a fifth one's coming? "Not really. No. I mean, except for fans and, you know, I've had a lot of people say, 'Is there going to be another one?' But, no, not officially." Check out the interview for some more of Karen Allen. I had a great time reading it because she's so completely over trying to be a movie star. She's going to go back to her life outside of show business and do whatever she was doing two years ago. Good for her.
