Brand New Commercial for Oliver Stone's 'W.'

Can Josh Brolin pull it off? He may kind of look the part, but that's ultimately not the most important thing in capturing the essence of a historical figure. And to capture one who happens to be the most scrutinized man in the world is even more difficult.

We get a brief snippet of Brolin as W. towards the end of this new commercial, and he sounds pretty dead on in that moment. I think it's safe to say that the entire success or failure of this film is up to Brolin. If it's a mawkish and terrible embodiment of Dubya, then it doesn't matter what anyone else does. If it's great, he could salvage the whole thing.

I've still got my reservations about this because I still just see "make fun of the dumb guy." I'd like to hope Oliver Stone has more on his mind than that. We'll find out for sure when W. opens on October 17th.
