Wanna see something cool? Take two minutes out of your
day to watch Oktapodi, made last year by
Julien Bocabeille as his graduation
project from Gobelins, a French arts college. He now works for DreamWorks, and
he's an animator on
Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.
This film has a lot in common with those animated shorts that
accompany Pixar movies, although those tend to be a little longer. Bocabeille
clearly understands the importance of keeping a story simple, and as you'll see,
despite only being two minutes long, this has a hero and a villain, and a
beginning, middle, and end. It's a complete story, and I think the animation
style fits beautifully.
Get caught up with what Bocabeille is working on now at
his blog,
or check out the
official website of the short to get a little
more information on the filmmakers and Oktapodi's road through the festival
circuit.

Also, yeah if I saw it without reading, I would just assume it was done by Pixar, short sweet and good.
