Monday, September 22, 2008 at 6:50AM Weekend Recap: 'Green Hornet' Buzz, 'Twilight' Posters, 'Watchmen,' and Will Ferrell
On the surface, you'd think that the past three days
constituted more of a TV weekend than a movie weekend, what with the Emmys and
all. However, the Emmy Awards telecast was dreadful and there was quite a bit of
movie news making the rounds.
First a note about the Emmys, though. Wayne Brady and
especially Jeff Probst: Put on a goddamn tie. Also, we get it: Everyone should
watch 30 Rock. Even if they've given it a shot and found it entirely
self-indulgent and significantly overrated.
Now on with the movie headlines:
Kung Fu Hustle's
Stephen Chow
will direct and star as Kato opposite Seth Rogen in The Green Hornet.
Emmy Rossum talks about Dragonball and
becoming Bulma.
Even more
Sex and the City movies are in the works.
Watchmen creator
Alan Moore
hates movies, even the many from which he's made tons of money.
Hey Twilight fans: Here are
three new
character posters sure to bring out your inner misunderstood teenage
vampire.
How can Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson
not raise
money for a movie?
Will Ferrell is done making sports movies.
And now some stories we didn't cover...
Former Marvel honcho Avi Arad is making a Mass Effect
movie. (Variety)
Luke Wilson and Giovanni Ribisi are getting into
internet porn. (JoBlo)
Four words: Road Trip: Beer Pong. (Moviehole)
Jason Statham describes his next movie and never brings
up driving a car. (Movieweb)
Uwe Boll can fix Hollywood. (1up)

ug...I'd never thought I'd agree with Boll, but he is so right... but still the worst director ever.
"I can shoot a movie like Fantastic Four 2 in half of the time for half of the money shot by shot." -Uwe Boll
And you know what? It couldn't have sucked worse because of it.
I don't disagree with that.
