Rorshach Protests Fox Over 'Watchmen' Lawsuit
Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 7:11AM
We've discussed at great length the tenuous immediate
future of
Watchmen. Will the release get held up by a
lawsuit? Can Warner Bros., which is distributing the film, come to some accord
with Fox, which is trying to block the release, in time for the March 6th
opening? Last night we outlined a strange theory that
DVD rights
for the original Batman series might be a panacea for all this.
Now the fans are getting into it, and you can bet that once
the court case is upon us, we'll see more than a few picketers just like this
makeshift Rorshach in Los Angeles.

I love "Will you watch the Watchmen?" That's a good
battle cry. There's a
MySpace page with a few more protest pictures,
and as I suspect we'll see more protests, I'd wager more photos will follow. You
can also join the fight and have your voice heard, although unless you've got a
few million dollars to slide across the table to Fox executives, I'm not sure
your voice is going to mean that much.

I applaud the effort, I like the idea. Sadly it will not accomplish much. Case in point Firefly probably has the biggest most ravenous fan base, and despite it all, Fox has done nothing but retain the rights to the show and make Flans very very sad.
