Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 10:28AM Oliver Stone's New and Improved 'W.' Trailer
I wouldn't say I'm reversing field on
W., but the new trailer finally begins to show
us more layers of the story, which is what I've been harping on for months. And because I believe most of this film rests on
Josh Brolin's
shoulders, since he is playing the most recognizable man in the world, I have to
say this latest look at
Oliver Stone's new movie is encouraging.
Brolin looks good here as George W. Bush. One nice
addition is the clip of
Toby Jones as an evidently bloodthirsty Karl
Rove. If you never saw Jones in the undervalued Infamous, his Truman
Capote is better than Philip Seymour Hoffman's, and frankly, I think the movie
is better, too.
It's also a cool use of "Once in a Lifetime" by Talking
Heads, but I still want a little more proof, like WMDs or something.
Although it could have suspended its release date to
deal with the economic crisis, W. will still arrive in theaters on
October 17th. Thanks as always to
Trailer Addict.
