Burn After Reading hasn't even officially opened and
Joel and
Ethan Coen are already working on their next film. Titled
A Serious
Man, the new Coen Brothers project
began production yesterday in their home state
of Minnesota.
Of course, Minnesota has been good the the filmmakers in
the past; Fargo
received seven Oscar nominations and won Best Original
Screenplay and Best Actress. Earlier this year, the Coens won more Oscar gold
with No Country for Old Men picking up four awards.
Their new film will be quite different from Burn After
Reading; while that film features the biggest names the brothers have ever
worked with - re-teaming with George Clooney and grabbing Brad Pitt and John
Malkovich - A Serious Man enters production with no major stars.
Richard Kind,
Michael Stuhlbarg,
Sari Lennick, and
Fred Melamed are the primary players. That
doesn't mean the film won't be any good, just that it might have a bit more
trouble selling tickets.
Despite the title, A Serious Man is described as a black
comedy about a professor (Stuhlbarg) whose wife is about to leave him because
his brother (Kind) won't move out of their house.
There's no release date for the film yet, but based on
their past, the film would be ready to go at Cannes next year, so late 2009
seems about right.

Apparently they're filming at the college where a lot of my friends are going now, I remember them telling me about this.
They are filming here at St Olaf college. I actually have class in the building they are filming in.
St Olaf's old science center.
Sari Lennick rocks! I'm excited to see her get some notice. She'll be brilliant.
Thanks for taking the time to talk about this, I feel fervently about this and I take pleasure in learning about this topic. Please, as you gain information, please update this blog with more information. I have found it very useful.UGG Women's Classic Short Boots - Coffee
Hello I just discovered your blog through a link to thektchen and I have to tell you that I really like this dish, I cannot seem to find farro here but I used pearled barley and the results were excellent, so much so that this salad needs no dressing, thank you for a great recipe and a lovely site.
