Elizabeth Banks Slams MPAA Over Original 'Zack and Miri' Rating

Ah, the lovely Elizabeth Banks. She's like Rachel McAdams, if McAdams actually wanted to make movies. She first grabbed our attention for good as the bookstore nympho in The 40-Year-Old Virgin and sex is on the table again in her upcoming Kevin Smith flick, Zack And Miri Make A Porno. If you've followed the progress of the movie, in which Banks and Seth Rogen play best friends who make an adult movie to make much-needed cash, you know that Zack and Miri has been wearing a bullseye as far as the MPAA is concerned. The ratings board initially slapped the film with an NC-17 rating, which Smith appealed. Now it's rated R, which gives the movie a much better shot at actually making money. But Banks is not amused by the circus, which played out not behind the scenes, but in very public places like internet forums, and she claims the MPAA has a double standard as it pertains to onscreen sex.

"There's nothing worse in Zack and Miri than there was in (horror film) Saw II, and that got an R rating... If I cut your throat and blood spews all over my face, it's an R. But if we have a lovely time together and you spew something else on my face, it's an NC-17."

Oh my...thanks for the visual. She just went up a couple pegs in my book.
