Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 7:19AM Leonardo DiCaprio Whines About 'Body of Lies' Conditions
I think
Leonardo DiCaprio got off light. Remember when
George Clooney
was doing press for Syriana three years ago and he talked about how he
was injured filming a torture scene? Spinal fluid starting leaking out, which is
a pretty nasty thing to think about, and apparently, it's pretty uncomfortable.
Clooney suffered memory loss and even harbored some
pretty desperate thoughts. "It was the most unbearable pain I’ve ever been
through, literally where you’d go, ‘well, you’ll have to kill yourself at some
point, you can’t live like this."
He had some surgeries and now he's fine, but that's a
rough on-set injury to endure.
So I have little sympathy for DiCaprio who filmed a
similar torture scene for his upcoming geopolitical thrilla
Body of Lies. The movie, directed by
Ridley
Scott and co-starring
Russell Crowe, is about CIA operations in the
middle east, and that subject matter has not been viewed positively by American
audiences in the past three or four years. It might be a different case with
stars of this magnitude, however.
Still, even if the film outgrosses Syriana, which
won't be hard to do, frankly, Clooney is still one up on DiCaprio in the torture
scene injury department.
Says Leo, "We did that (scene) in the middle of
some medieval torture tomb. There was some kind of horrific dust in the air."
Dust? Really? Dust? Clooney had spinal fluid coming out
of his nose and you're complaining about dust? Seriously, can I get you a
Kleenex? No, no, sit still, Leo; let me look for some Visine. Some of that dust
really irritated your eyes.
Adds DiCaprio emphatically, "I got sick for two or three
days afterward because of the intense energy it took."
Two or three days? O, the humanity!

This was merely a statement of fact on DiCaprio's part. It wasn't "whining".
Why the need to denigrate him at Clooney's expense? Both are fine actors.
who is the idiot who wrote this?you need to see a doctor or sth man...and by the way dust can stuck in your lung and if that happens you got a serius problem friend...you should get a life and of you really love movies stop critising and just watch them...but seriusly get a life pal...
Yeh, dust can be a killer - if you inhale it daily for a couple of decades.
I think this is one of...wait no, the STUPIDEST things i have EVER heard ok i may not know alot about george clooney but what if it was just snot coming out of his nose (seeing as that is generally what comes out of someone's nose) he could have faked it...he IS an actor after all and. and ancient dust is really bad for your lungs just like ciggarette smoke is so seriously man just because someone is saying they are sick dosnt mean you have to come down on them like that dude. I know that Leonardo DiCaprio Put his ALL into this as he dose every movie he dose(which is why he is such an AMAZING actor) so just back.
He's paid millions and millions of dollars for every movie he makes. If he's complaining about dust that left him sick for a couple of days, he's more than compensated. It just seems like such a minor thing to even mention, particularly in the context of some sort of arduous ordeal he had to go through, which is why I'm pointing out the absurdity of it.
oh yeah?say that to daniel day lewis who broke two hipps to do my left foot...and he didn't complain you moron..he just said it.And leonardo dicaprio spend months in that dungeon to do rehersals so just back away and stop campaing against movies.Even one person will be affected by what you said then you just insulted the filmaking. So i advise to stop it and say sorry to the filmakers of the movie.Stop comparing, stop judging and stop making crap out of your own head...and yes he is paid millions to do what he do best and i hope he won't brake a neck to make a scene so you can be happy..
my brother died from inhaling dust on the job site. once certain dusts are in your system-there is nothing you can do. it lingers in your system then one day you get symptoms-then next your dead. unpleasant experiences are all relative.
I'm with Boyd on this one. Leos statement reminds me of a sissy in a rowing contest who made a huge complaint about getting wet from oar splashes.
