Remarkable Trailer for Sci-Fi/Neo-Noir 'Franklyn'
Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 1:28PM
Look what you can do for only $12 million. With blockbuster budgets still spiraling out of control, along comes
Franklyn, a neo-noir thrilla that not only has an arresting visual style, but also appears to have an intelligent, absorbing storyline, as well. And it cost $65 million less than Four Christmases.

For that price, writer-director
Gerald McMorrow has grabbed
Eva Green - and who wouldn't like to do that? - and
Ryan Phillippe, and has created a futuristic setting called Meanwhile City that looks absolutely remarkable. And, for the record, this is a truly great trailer, exactly the kind of thing a small movie operating outside the system really needs to get the word out.
So get the word out.

Franklyn played the London Film Festival in October, and opens in the UK on February 20th. I know we have some readers in that part of the world, so if any of you get the chance to see it, let us know how it is. Hell, I'll let you write a full review if you want.
