Brendan Fraser Swears He's Not Gung Ho in 'G.I. Joe'

On the heels of a summer that saw his two films, Journey to the Center of the Earth and The Mummy: Bitter Beer Face, take in a whopping $625 million internationally, Brendan Fraser has a new family-friendly adventure movie on the way in a couple of weeks. Inkheart is based on a wildly popular children's book, and even though the film was delayed from its original 2008 release, I have a feeling it will still do pretty well.

But the real item on the agenda for Fraser right now is the cameo he shot for this summer's G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, which the actor has gone to great lengths to downplay.
"I was there for a morning," he told Worst Previews. "It was a cameo." He also explained to Emirates Business 24/7, "I'm a fan so I told the producer I'll do anything for a part. G.I. Joe to me is what SpongeBob Squarepants is to my kids."
There had been talk that the cameo was a covert casting of Fraser as Gung-Ho, a rumor Fraser drops right on its head.
"Let me get something straight, I'm not Gung Ho. I don't know what you've read, but that is not the name of my character. If you look him up, with all due respect, he looks like a refugee from the Village People, and, no, I did not attire myself as such. I will tell you that they gave me a really cool motorcycle to ride. It's a sight gag. I show up, and you're supposed to go, 'Hey!'"
So remember that this August. When Encino Man shows up on a motorcycle, that's your cue to point at the screen and go, "Hey!"

That is if we haven't all thrown our popcorn at the screen in disgust and collectively stormed out of the theater by then...
I am not a big fan of his, to say the least. This might be the straw that breaks my back and make me not see this film...
Why so down on the Fraser in a cameo? I mean it is a GI Joe Movie, not some literary classic adapt or biblical epic. Its a movie based on a cartoon based on a toy people.
Brendan Fraser is a very talented actor so you lousy people have no room at all to talk you're not the ones making millions of dollars in films so please don't even try because it makes all of you look extremely uneducated when you insult someone you don't even know!!!!!!
I like Brendan Fraser , i like his acting/films , who was it who once said? they who are without the Talent to Act love to be Critic's....
