Vanessa Hudgens Auditioned for 'New Moon'

If New Moon performs as well as Twilight this November, the franchise will be well on its way to being a real force. Obviously, Summit Entertainment is hoping lightning strikes twice, which is why the studio is moving ahead with the sequel Saw-style, becoming an annual event for its fans.

As the film readies for production this spring, there are still some questions about casting. Last week it was confirmed that Taylor Lautner would return as Jacob, and now MTV reports that someone with a fairly huge following herself has auditioned for the role of Jacob's "feisty and heartbroken frienemy," Leah Clearwater.

Vanessa Hudgens of High School Musical has apparently thrown her hat in the ring, or so says Twilight co-star Ashley Greene, who, like Tony the Tiger thinks, "she'd be great!" My immediate reaction is that it's a perfect way for Hudgens to leave the Disney brand behind and keep the fanbase attached to her by jumping right into another bit of pop culture nicotine.

Leah shows her fangs at various points in the series, which would be something new for Hudgens to bare, and since she does appear in the third and fourth books, as well, there's a chance that this could be a three-year commitment if producers decide to go with Hudgens.

The only question is, why wouldn't they? That's instant dollars, and by the hurried production and release schedule, that seems to be much more important at this point than getting it right.

Okay..
I can understand wanting to get out of being a "Disney" actor.
But in no way should they cast her....not if they want an actor who can actually act. I don't even think she looks like Leah. I think people would be interested to see her in a normal film as opposed to the always creepy happy disney stuff. But that interest could be drowned out by the desire to keep one's brain cells in tact.
Not a good choice! :(
Lets see what happens...

Hudgens is what is commonly referred to as a whore. She should have been on Mr. Skin's list of nude scenes for last year as her naked pictures that consumed the internet were probably some of her best work.

Honestly, people are so stupid. You create this character in your mind, and how she should look like. Just because you view a character in a certain way in you head, does not mean you are right. Her pictures does not determine her acting capability. Your really need to look at yourself and ask yourself why you jude someone so harshly. How can you judge a performance when it has not happened yet. honestly people can be so dumb. She has shown true dedication to acting whether you see it or not. You dumb morons!!

ok,the only reason she wants to get out,is because shes getting old. After a certain amount of years, they'll replace you with the next, cute, funny girl/guy. Shes a horrible, "Disney" actor anyways, there's no way she can amount to a movie like this,so she should just stick to her High School Musical crap until that gay shit ends.Hopefully,soon.
