Rhona Mitra Responds to Catwoman Rumors

There is no stopping these Batman casting rumors. I mean, even when he denies that Two-Face is alive, some websites think Aaron Eckhart is hinting that the character will be back in the third movie. When Philip Seymour Hoffman completely denied he was even interested in playing The Penguin, there were mock-ups of what he would look like in the role months later.

And then there's Catwoman. She's been connected to Angelina Jolie, Cher, and a couple other actresses in the past six months, including Rhona Mitra. Of those women in contention - if we can even call it that - Mitra may look the best in a catsuit but would have the most difficulty with the drama. And, because it was there, Sci-Fi Wire asked Mitra, star of the new Underworld Underworld prequel, whether or not the role of Catwoman interests her.

"I wouldn't say no," laughed Mitra, who admitted hearing her name come up on the rumor mill.

"Yeah, I've actually [heard that] quite a bit. As far as I know, they're not even talking about making another one [yet]. I don't know how those things get started and who says what and how all of a sudden that becomes information that's out there circulating."

Though we have no idea what villains will even pop up in Christopher Nolan's third film, there is plenty of talk about Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. To the supporters of that axis of evil, let me remind you of Spider -Man 3. Let's keep the villains to a minimum. Three villains can't work. It's like having Terrell Owens and Pacman Jones on the same roster. So, if you love all three, pick a mostest favoritest and let's move on.

Mitra is downplaying the whole thing, even though I'm sure it must be exciting to hear your name in the discussion, even at this stage. "I would be over the moon to be involved in something like that. I don't know who wouldn't. I just can't imagine [me] being a reality."
