Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 6:28AM Check Out Jason in Action from 'Friday the 13th'
We can't say it enough: The new Friday the 13th is not really a remake of the original. If you've never seen it, Jason's not the killer. Sorry to play the spoiler, but really, it's your own fault if you don't know that already.
The killer in the first Friday the 13th was Jason's mother, and the boy appeared at the end of the movie in a dream by the movie's only survivor. Jason (and the mask) wouldn't take over until the second film, but this isn't really a remake of that, either.
Essentially, it's just a homecoming for Jason. He's back at Camp Crystal Lake, only we're cranking back the Corpsometer for the big guy; he hasn't become the unstoppable killing machine we all know and love just yet.
But by the looks of these pictures from Marcus Nispel's Friday the 13th, he's getting plenty of practice.

oh thanks very fucking much :(
i'd just got the Friday the 13th boxset and haven't yet seen them
i might as well sip the first one now.
Just cos this is a movie review/news site, doesn't mean every one has seen every movie in existence (you certainly haven't given you only post about Hollywood bollocks.)
Here's my own rule, although I'm sure other people have their preferred methods, too: One year after the movie's out on DVD, you can say anything you want about it. Especially in a forum like this, which is supposed to talk about movies. One of the big things about Friday the 13th is the perception that it's a remake, but it's not, and if you haven't seen it in the past 30 years, that's not really something I'm going to dance around.
Can I spoil the Sixth Sense now?
No!!!!! Dude!!!! I haven't seen it yet!!!!
Does knowing who the killer is really spoil your enjoyment of Friday the Thirteeth? Her character is introduced literally moments before it's revealed. For Christ's sake, it's a slasher movie, not a whodunit.
