Mitch Hurwitz on 'Arrested' Developments

There seems to be slow, measured movement on the Arrested Development front. One of the greatest sitcoms of all time (and almost without question the greatest short-lived sitcom ever) will be heading to theaters. Eventually.

Creator Mitch Hurwitz, who will write and presumably direct the film has a lot of other irons in the fire, including the animated series Sit Down, Shut Up, for which he's currently doing his promotional duties. But because this film is just looming, it's a topic Hurwitz has had to address, and he came well armed.

"We want to do it, we have a deal more or less in place from Fox Searchlight, and we're kind of getting all the actors on board," Hurwitz told Buzzsugar. The man behind the series did not have to mention the name of Michael Cera, the only member of the cast balking at the idea.

But where will the story go? It's been a few years. Does it pick up where the series left off, is it kind of a 90-minute standalone episode? "We have a story," explains Hurwitz, "which is basically Valkyrie meets Hotel for Dogs."

You think he's joking, but there are a few parallels, like how the model home was constantly used to board strays, and how Lucille was essentially Hitler with a handbag. So I guess nothing's changed...

I think it's funny that Michael Cera is holding out, because he's been playing the character he perfected on AD in every movie he's made since. Although the budget of this film can't be huge, and therefor his payday can't be huge, apparently his manager believes his property is much more valuable than this production allows for...

That said, I have yet to see Cera get any of the roles that, say, Shia Lebouf is getting, so where his star is definitely rising, is his paycheck? Or am I being shortsighted...is 2009 the year we see Michael Cera blast off in super-blockbusters and become the next Will Smith???

Perhaps Cera and his people know something American Wilson does not.

Some time ago, I really needed to buy a car for my organization but I did not have enough cash and could not purchase something. Thank goodness my father adviced to try to get the credit loans from creditors. Hence, I did that and used to be happy with my car loan.
