Jackman Clears Up 'Wolverine' Re-Shoot Rumors
Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 8:02PM
On Friday, we told you about the "extensive re-shoots" that X-Men Origins: Wolverine was undergoing in Vancouver. Our source for the story, Collider, had a lot of interesting ideas about the reasons behind the re-shoots, more than we'd care to back up.

The official line from Fox was that they needed to shoot stuff now because of certain weather conditions. That sounds a little hard to swallow, but just the fact that the studio acknowledged Wolverine was still in front of cameras meant something was up.
And there is.
Hugh Jackman wrote an e-mail to Ain't It Cool News in which Logan himself downplays the rumors but does say some things are currently being shot. Here's the e-mail in full:

Hey everyone -It’s Hugh Jackman, sending this note from freezing Vancouver. I have read a lot of your online comments regarding the footage that we are currently shooting and I share your passion for the Wolverine character and the movie - I owe it all to you guys! I wanted to reach out and let you know that due to scheduling conflicts with certain cast members and location/weather considerations, we had to wait until now to shoot a couple of scenes. Please rest assured that WOLVERINE will be badass and hopefully meet all of your expectations. I am stoked by the positive response to the teaser, which clearly reflects the tone and scope of the film. If you like that, we’ve got much more in store! In the meantime, here’s an exclusive shot of some characters you may recognize… Cheers, Hugh I guess we'll take his word for it, and I think this sort of thing really endears Jackman and the movie to an already loyal fanbase by reaching out and telling everyone what's up. Incidentally, the exclusive shot is the photo we used above in this article. I just hope Wolverine is 80% as cool as the trailer. That'll be enough for me.

Yeah, Hugh Jackman is very likeable because of things like this. It doesn't hurt that he seems like a legitimately nice person and he's a good actor.
Thanks for reporting this Colin! It's why I subscribed to your blog. ^_^
Wish more actors and directors would "reach out" to their fans and clear things up. ;-)
I trust Hugh and have to say that this movement of his to reply himself to the fans made me respect him as an actor and person even more
i like and respect hugh and all but this still looks too much like x-men 3. the trailer looks cheesy with all the posing and it's trying to cram in too many mutants to up the "cool" factor. i have very big reservations about this movie. also why should we have faith in jackman. he says he respects the character yet he allowed ratner and fox to turn wolverine into the leader (cyclops) of the x-men in x-men 3? cmon?!?!
