Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 1:15AM Trailer for the Sundance Hit '500 Days of Summer'
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that your reaction to 500 Days of Summer is probably directly proportional to how much you like Zooey Deschanel. I happen to really like Zooey, so I'll probably enjoy the new Fox Searchlight movie that this trailer says is not a love story, but rather a story about love.

I've read a couple reviews of the movie's Sundance premiere this weekend, and so far so good. Film School Rejects gives it an A+, which sets the bar pretty high, now doesn't it? In the film, Zooey plays Summer, a girl that doesn't believe true love exists. Oh. So she's the one. Not surprisingly, Joseph Gordon-Levitt falls in love with her.
If the trailer has a music video look to it, that's because rookie film director Marc Webb made some music videos once upon a time. I really like the trailer. It's very direct, invokes the now uncommon use of a narrator, and has a bunch of images from the film thrown together as opposed to clips that lay out the story seven seconds at a time.

500 Days of Summer will open in Fox Searchlight's usual summer proving grounds, late July. Look for it in theaters on the 24th of that month.

I agree sir, this trailer is probably more entertaining to those who love Zooey. Look, I saw "The Happening" for this girl, so I'm definitely seeing this.
I could've done without that weird announcer though, reminded me of Will Arnett in "Grindhouse", except serious.
"500 days...of Magic. 500 DAYS! of Intimacy! of Awkwardness!"
