When I was a kid, there were some Star Trek action figures floating around the neighborhood. They were in between the size of Star Wars figures and the original G.I. Joe (the one with Kung-Fu Grip), and the Kirk doll's hair was as plastic as Shatner's.

For the rebirth of Trek, we're seeing several new lines of toys molded after the new cast. There will be Star Trek Barbies, released by CBS Consumer Products this April, and a collection of Playmates Toys products will hit shelves on the 19th of that month, featuring Kirk, Spock, and McCoy in three different sizes. Like anything in life, when you want the footlong, you pay dearly ($30). The Barbies (above) are more expensive, however, setting you back a little over 40 bucks each.
There won't just be dolls...excuse me, collectibles/action figures...as you can see from some of the shots below.

All of this will happen before Trek is released on May 8th. It's an interesting tie-in for a film that will probably skew a little older than the target demo for Barbies, so I imagine they're counting on a lot of business from collectors, which they'll probably get.
