Friday, January 23, 2009 at 6:05PM 'Watchmen' Soundtrack Details and Track Listing
Now that the ugliness of the Watchmen lawsuit is safely behind us, it's time to focus on the film itself, which will be released on March 6th. Details about the soundtrack have been released on March 3rd, the same day the score by Tyler Bates will also arrive in stores.

Warner Bros. has really stepped it up for Watchmen, and you have to think that this film and Harry Potter are the one-two punch for the studio in 2009. On top of the soundtracks, the Blu-Ray DVD Watchmen: The Complete Motion Comic will be released on March 3rd, and following all of that, vinyl versions of the score and soundtrack will come out on March 17th.
But wait, there's more...
A week later (March 24th), the Watchmen Music Collectors Edition 7-Inch Box Set will show up, with seven double sided 7-inch picture discs - one with each Watchmen hero - on one side and graphic novel likenesses on the other.
That's a lot of stuff, but is the music any good? I'm glad you asked:
1 - My Chemical Romance - "Desolation Row" (a Bob Dylan cover)
2 - Nat King Cole - "Unforgettable"
3 - Bob Dylan - "The Times They Are A-Changin'"
4 - Simon & Garfunkel - "The Sound of Silence"
5 - Janis Joplin - "Me & Bobby McGee"
6 - KC and the Sunshine Band - "I'm Your Boogie Man"
7 - Billie Holiday - "You're My Thrill"
8 - Philip Glass Ensemble - "Pruit Igoe & Prophecies"
9 - Leonard Cohen - "Hallelujah"
10- Jimi Hendrix - "All Along the Watchtower"
11- Budapest Symphony Orchestra - "Ride of the Valkyries"
12- Nina Simone - "Pirate Jenny"
