Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 2:46PM New Character Posters for 'G.I. Joe'
JoBlo has picked up five new character posters for G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, which despite the black outfits and the similarities in the titles, has nothing to do with Lycans.
Represented, from top to bottom, are Duke (Channing Tatum), Scarlett (Rachel Nichols), The Baroness (Sienna Miller), Snake Eyes (Ray Park), and Ripcord (Marlon Wayans). We'll know a little more when we see the trailer, of course, which you can catch this Sunday during the Super Bowl, but at the very least, the attention to detail paid thus far is a good sign. I expected worse, truthfully.

I'm still concerned about Stephen Sommers (The Mummy) serving as the director, and that's well-founded, but so far so good. G.I. Joe comes out August 7th.

The first poster looks more like Metal Gear Solid to me.
Snake Eyes for the win! Despite the posters (thankfully) everyone will not be dressed in black. Just imagine the confusion in a fight scene with Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow were that the case though. I would've liked to see something more relative to what current soldiers actually wear which is more to what the old GI Joe comics stuck to (Cobra aside of course). I just don't see where standard fatigues would've been a problem at all as the suits they have seem more super soldier/Batman than everyday military. I suppose the regular issue camo gear just wasn't as sexy.
