And now...the latest and my least favorite Watchmen
poster:
I just don't get a lot out of this. It's pretty static, as these things go. Essentially, it's just a retread of some of the character one-sheets pasted over a background we've already seen in a previous poster. It's not very imaginative, at the very least.
For the sake of comparison, check out the best Watchmen poster, released last year following the Scream Awards, I believe:

On the whole, they've done a great job with the marketing of Watchmen, slipping up only on a couple of posters, including this new one. It doesn't influence how excited I am to see it, though, and we'll all get that chance on March 6th.

The blue man (I don't know their names :p) sort of throws the balance off in the first one. It's all pretty symmetrical until you spot him, and then it just sort of ruins it. It's like "Oh, and here's this guy too." Maybe it's supposed to be like that, I dunno. :/ Not a fan. I like the second one, though.
Dr. Manhattan, yeah. In Dungeons and Dragons parlance, he'd be classified as larger than man size.
LOL , Dr. Manhattan would've been better in the center I think. As for the poster itself, sure it's not thrilling but it is very comic book cover style to toss your characters in a one shot. Given that Watchmen is so different from standard comic book fare it's slightly surprising a poster like this would even be made. Then again different elements at work on different things and the marketing folk are just trying to capitalize on every aspect, I guess.
