Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 2:49PM Joaquin's New Career an Elaborate Hoax?
When you're as odd as Joaquin Phoenix, it's hard to know what to take seriously. The
notoriously hard to figure actor announced last fall he was leaving acting, only to pop up in Las Vegas this
month rapping. Stranger still, Phoenix' brother-in-law, Casey Affleck, filmed the whole thing, reportedly
for a documentary.

Now Entertainment Weekly reports that it might all be a cunning ruse. O, that tricky Joaquin!
The magazine cites a source who recently worked with Phoenix: "He said, 'It's a put-on. I'm going to pretend
to have a meltdown and change careers, and Casey is going to film it.'"
If it were Sacha Baron Cohen or Will Ferrell, I'd buy it. But Phoenix lampooning pompous actors holds less
water since he's kind of pompous himself. But it sure would explain why anyone let him onstage to rap like
that.
"It's an art project for him,"a source tells EW. "He's going full out. He probably has told his reps
that he's quit acting. Joaquin is very smart. This is very conscious. He has a huge degree of control."
OK, but what about the beard? That's gotta be real, right?

This reminds about JR being shot..it was all a dream. It sounds like Joaquin is trying to correct some wrongs..how easy it is to say it's all a hoax...like falling off the stage, like yelling at his camera crew. Ok Joaquin...FU!
It's bull ... he's suddently come to his senses and realised he threw away the only career he had.
Nailed it.
What a crock...the ruse is....calling it a ruse.
