Seth Rogen Refutes 'Green Hornet' Rumors

Over the weekend, HitFix reported that those pesky anonymous sources were casting doubt over the future of The Green Hornet, and a lot of it made perfect sense. I don't know too many people who think Seth Rogen is an ideal superhero, although with him co-writing the script, you can expect it to be more of an action comedy. That's why bringing in Stephen Chow was such a great move.

And that's where the trouble starts: Chow isn't directing anymore and said about a month ago he may not even be in the film as Kato. Oops. That's cause for concern.

But one person HitFix didn't consult was Seth Rogen, who instead, consulted HitFix:

"The Green Hornet has many people working for it, including production designers, costume designers and many conceptual artists, office staff, etc. [The studio heads] have every intention on making it, and assuming we're able to hire a new director in the upcoming weeks, which seems like a distinct possibilty, it should still hit the release date."

I don't think just hiring a new director is going to fix it. There are more bad directors than there are Stephen Chows. But it's a summer blockbuster (potentially) with a big name star, so I'm certain directors will be climbing over each other to get Rogen's attention.

Oh...and this just in: Apparently Adam Sandler will have a cameo as another superhero. Well, that's just silly. My question now is what happens if the process takes longer than "the upcoming weeks"? Does it get shelved until summer 2011?
