Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 12:20PM Trailer - McConaughey's 'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past'
Look everyone, it's Charles Dickens meets Nancy Meyers on Groundhog Day!

The new trailer for Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is online over at Moviefone (via Trailer Addict), and what can I say? I wish it weren't intended for women. If this was more High Fidelity and less McConaughey, it might have potential.
As it is, it's a slick ladies man (hard to recognize him in the shirt, I realize) figuring out where he went wrong with the woman he was meant to be with all along (Jennifer Garner). Blech.
There are many to choose from, but one major problem with the trailer is the question, "What if you could change the future?" You can't? I mean, I thought the present helped determine the future. No? Am I wrong there? I'm overthinking it, clearly.
Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is this year's Made of Honor, and it opens May 1st.

For some reason, I liked "Made of Honor" more than I thought I would (I have a feeling it might have something to do with Michelle Monaghan being the good thing in any movie she's in), and this one has similar appeal. But...ugh, it's so predictable...why? Why?
Made of Honor wasn't as bad as it should've been. Hokey as hell, but I thought Monaghan and Dempsey were kind of endearing, despite the schlock. So I guess this would be lucky to meet that standard, huh?
