Friday, January 30, 2009 at 1:00AM Two 'Transformers' Toys...I Mean "Collectibles"
Empire has a sneak peek at some of the
new toys cooked up as part of the rather sizable marketing and merchandising onslaught to be carried out
this summer in the name Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
I think the growth opportunity here is in adult collectors. Sure, you'll sell some to kids, even at whatever
astronomical price they're pitched for. But I think young adults and guys who grew up with the Transformers
20 years ago are the real targets here. Suckers.
Anyway, in the yellow corner, a familiar face...or is that a familiar chassis? You know him, you love him:
Bumblebee!

And in the blue corner, from parts unknown, a newcomer to the world of the Transformers franchise, a
devious Decepticon...here is Soundwave!

See the real things, or actually, I guess these are the real things...OK, see the big computer effects beginning June 26th.

So Soundwave the Transformer Boombox who had little transformer tape decks that he used to spy on everyone, is a plane? I know we have to update things but how do you go from boombox to space plane? Also didn't we already make Megatron a space plane? Is that all we have for updating things, make them space planes?
Maybe soundwave is a jet before he gets to earth...
think people was he not a lamp post on cybertron? so yes he could very much be a jet before he gets to earth
Bumblebee is one of my favorite Transformers Toys.
