Friday, January 30, 2009 at 7:38PM Watch the Five Best Picture Nominees at AMC Theaters
Saw this over at Cinematical and figured I'd share. Once again this year, AMC Theaters is giving you the chance to see all five Best Picture nominees right in a row, a day before the ceremony.

It's not the option for me; if I watched five movies in one day, I'd probably not want to watch three-and-a-half hours dedicated to their individual and collective greatness the next day. Wouldn't a better option be to spread them out? Just a thought.
But AMC gives you the option of knocking out all five of them over the course of 13 hours, if that's your jones. Here's the list of participating theaters, and below is the schedule for Saturday, February 21st.
10:30am - Milk
1:05pm - The Reader
3:45pm - The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
7:15pm - Slumdog Millionaire
9:45pm - Frost/Nixon Your $30 ticket will get you a free enormo bucket of popcorn and free refills all day long. That's right: It's not just 13 hours of movies, it's 13 hours of popcorn, too. Enjoy that... Tickets are available at AMCTheaters.com and at any participating theater.

I don't know if you have ever been to an official movie marathon, but there is something unique and special about the format. I went to this last year and it was really fun, and I am tentatively planning on attending this year.
That being said, yes I agree having it the day before the ceremony is a bit awkward. Perhaps an entire week before would be better on the psyche.
